How Much Does Factoring Cost?

When you factor your benefits are many. Of course you get the money up front and we act as your accounts receivable and collections department. We provide you with credit analysis, to help reduce and slow your bad debt. The credit analysis alone is worth thousands of dollars. For those of you who've tried to negotiate contracts for credit services, you know $5000.00 is a legitimate base contract.

Almost all factoring companies also hold what is called a reserve account. Basically, it is your money they hold. Some hold as much as 20%. In other words, 1 out of 5 invoices you are still waiting for your money! At CJM we hold a mere 2% per invoice. This reserve account may be partially refunded to you from time to time, perhaps to defray the cost of a bad debt, or maybe to help pay for licenses or insurance, or to help in a real hardship. We try to be flexible to help you.

With such a small reserve you would expect us to have a high service rate. Not true at all, we are currently charging fixed rates between 1.75-4.5% depending on volume. And of course, as you continue to do business with us, and as your accounts receivable improve, the rate may drop.

The only additional cost is a small per invoice fee. $1.50.

  • For example:
    • You have an invoice for $1000.00
    • Factoring Fee (3.0%) - $30.00
    • Your Reserve Account (2%) - $20.00
    • Invoice Fee - $1.50
    • You receive a check for $948.50
